Open Connect Limited, a prominent open access infrastructure company with the most extensive fiber network in Malawi, enlisted ProjectWorks to assist in designing a cutting-edge data center in Lilongwe.

The project involved creating a robust brick-and-mortar facility to meet the high standards of a Tier III data center, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability for Open Connect’s expanding operations and services.

Our team diligently incorporated the latest technologies and best practices in data center design to guarantee optimal performance, security, and energy efficiency. We blended traditional elements like air bricks for natural ventilation and rough textured plaster reflecting local architectural aesthetics with modern minimalist design to create a functional, culturally resonant, and environmentally sustainable facility. This new facility not only strengthens Open Connect’s infrastructure but also enhances its ability to provide reliable and high-speed connectivity across Malawi.
