This switch is one of MTN’s oldest sites and had grown past it’s power connection from council and also the air-conditioning system installed. The challenge was upgrading these essential and critical services while still providing uninterrupted power & chilled air throughout the extended project.

The site is small and necessitated interesting solutions, such as a three level energy centre. Special HVAC gantries were built over the exiting roof to connect the new chiller yards on either side of the building at high level. HVAC clip-on passages were added to provide chilled air to the existing white space.

The building was simultaneously upgraded to match the current ‘look & feel’ of data centre facilities. Careful planning and meticulous co-ordination was essential.
