NELSPRUIT REMOTE HUB

This building is one of thirteen hubs built countrywide to expand the communication links for the network and increase the redundancy of service for our client.

The remove hub is a complex building comprising a data centre, energy centre & an administrative wing for the network group staff. The data centre is a highly technical environment, housing specialized cellular equipment.

All services reticulation is done through a process of intensive co-ordination between all engineering services & architecture. Tier 4 compliance in the reliability of all mechanical and electrical service is achieved through the dedicated energy centre which houses two rotary UPS’s, battery banks and a fire suppression system.

‘Sub-marine’ doors provide disaster recovery cooling in the event of failure of the air-conditioning system. Low maintenance finishes, cavity walls & minimal use of glazing ensure that the buildings are energy efficient and environmentally conscious. Security is paramount and is supported by biometric readers, CCTV, number plate recognition & access control. The landscaping consists entirely of indigenous & endemic plants that have a low water & maintenance demand.
