THOKOZA INTERPRETATION CENTRE
A monumental structure commemorating the 688 lives lost along Khumalo street.
The Thokoza interpretation centre and memorial tell the story of the Kathorus district with specific focus on the pre-1994 political events that occurred between the IFP and the ANC along Khumalo street.
A narrative centre designed to depict the oral history of the local community as well as display the progression and reconciliation of an once violence riddled community.
With several exhibition and display platforms, the facility not only focused on historical content but also allows for the contemporary artist and narrator to tell a story and exhibit pieces of local craftsmanship.
